Old-fashioned

This extended holiday weekend has definitely been a necessity for me after the hectic and emotional week I endured. It's also nice to think that today is Tuesday. I wish that the weeks started with Tuesday so we didn't have to start with Monday. Mondays are too long and too much of a laughable mockery reminding us that the weekend is over and we have to endure five more days before Saturday and Sunday grace us with their presence. Monday reminds me of a really good dish you put together and it's baking in the oven, and you can't get it out yet because it isn't ready to be enjoyed. And as much as I want to stick my little toothpicks inside the middle and convince myself that non-fully baked brownies are actually yummy, I have to be patient enough to wait for the oven buzzer to go off. In the meantime, I will enjoy my candy jar.

It's filled with Hershey kisses and fun-sized packages of M&M's. I tried rewarding myself for studying by getting one little kiss, but they're just so darn addicting I end up eating a small handful at once.

Last Monday (not yesterday) I coughed up a lung in my Diagnostics class and did not learn a blasted thing, and proceeded to Wally-world to get some Mucinex, aka miracle drug. Tuesday was fun because I got to celebrate the b-day of a girl in my program, and I suddenly realized how quickly two a.m. came arrive from just talking about life and enjoying the beautiful countryside. Wednesday I was told that the required weekend class I signed up for is scheduled for the same weekend I am scheduled to move. (Update: moving may be postponed, so freak-out may not commence just yet.) Thursday, my car's battery decided to pass away and freak me out in the middle of my apartment's parking lot. I had to get it jumped and then had to leave it on until I got home in OKC. Oh, that was a wonderful adventure of forgetting so many things I wanted to take home!

Friday was simply wonderful because I got to relax and not worry about anything school related, and Saturday I thoroughly enjoyed watching the football game in my dress and cowgirl boots. I think there must be some kind of luck attached to those two items, because we haven't lost a game when I've worn either. :)

Sunday was splendid because I got to go to church with my momma and learn more about God's love and encouragement. Yesterday, I had a wonderful hour and a half conversation with a good friend at OSU, which was much needed. There's something about OSU that I feel attached to, and it may be because I lived there for four and a half years, or maybe because that's where so many memories were created. Call me old-fashioned, but I miss my Alma Mater.

Over this weekend, I decided that I want to write letters to people - not electronically, but handwritten. I miss this 1920's trade, and my friend at OSU agrees. So, if you get a silly message requesting a mailing address, fear not, for I am only wanting to fill your mailbox with a letter on pretty stationary - now just to find it...

Much love,
klc.
