Proverbs 16:24

"Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."

I have always been taught to speak words of kindness, and treat others how you want to be treated. I have never understood why we (including myself) tend to speak harshly to others and disregard the other person's feelings, emotions, etc. As sinners, we are so selfish and so egocentric, we can't see the big picture of what God's plan is for our lives. Just today I was watching a video about a baby that was severely physically abused by his biological mother's boyfriend and it broke my heart that there are people in this world that have that mindset to think it's okay to abuse an innocent human being. Maybe this is why I am so drawn to helping special needs children. A good handful of those who I plan to work with may have had a history of physical or mental abuse for no reason. Thankfully, in the video, justice was brought out, and the caregivers/mother of the caregivers was put under arrest for murder. I could never imagine anyone doing such a horrendous crime. Praise Jesus that we gained another innocent angel that day.

On another note, I have been encompassed in this new fad of Twitter. It's quite interesting to be able to "follow" a celebrity and get to hear bits and pieces of what they do on a daily basis. One in particular, has been a tough one to believe, Heidi Montag. We all know her from "The Hills", and although she claims the word of God, her hypocritical ways astound me. She has posed for pornographic magazines and delights in vulgarity. It hurts my heart that someone who claims God as their Lord and Savior would portray themselves in such a twisted manner. I don't understand celebrity's culture anymore. Yes, there are people who are not Christians, but do portray themselves in a clean and classy manner. I even see this provocative image being portrayed in Phi Lamb, which breaks my heart even more. We claim to love each other, love Jesus, and yet we (the baby deer) go out into a "lions den" (the puppy) and expose ourselves to promiscuity, debauchery, and other issues that I have been guilty of myself. Thank the Lord that there is forgiveness.

Below is an excerpt of Matthew West's "Only Grace" lyrics:

"There is no guilt here
There is no shame
No pointing fingers
There is no blame
What happened yesterday…has disappeared
The dirt has washed away
And now it's clear

There's only grace
There's only love
There's only mercy and believe me it's enough
Your sins are gone
Without a trace
And there's nothing left now
There's only grace"

What amazingly, powerful lyrics. I am so glad my Pandora box chose this song. Well, time to do some reading, I need to keep up the grades! :)

Love Love Love,
Kelsea
