Two-thousand eleven has been quite the experience. I finished up my first year of grad school and (currently) my last semester ever to have classes! Can I get an "amen"?
Went sledding for the first time ever with some lovely people when the snow-pacalypse came.
Celebrated Viet's birthday! I can't believe I have the privilege of calling these ladies my besties.
Met some amazing girls (pictured and not pictured) in one crazy town.
Co-hosted my very first bridal shower for Sarah.
Was a bridesmaid in Steph & Ryan's wedding
Jousted with our bouquets in Sarah's wedding.
Celebrated Kristen's wedding, such a beautiful bride and now soon to be mommy!
Hit a sweet milestone of twenty-five.
Felt like a kid again and went Christmas caroling at a nursing home.
I am so excited for what twenty-twelve has in store for me - bigger, better, and brighter things to come. As for now, here are some of my New Year's resolutions. I figured if I wrote them here you all would keep me accountable. In no particular order...
- Take time to read the bible every day. Even if it's through the app or the old fashioned way, I will do this.
- Pray about things just as much as I talk about them.
- Curse less. I want to rid myself of that awful habit.
- Pass the Praxis, graduate, and start my CFY.
- Watch TV less. Ever since I've moved back home, I've felt like a couch potato. Nada mas.
- Read at least one non-SLP book a month. I have so many, this could last me a while.
- Break the caffeine, junk food, and crappy food/drink habit. When I first moved to Tahlequah, I didn't consume any fast food. I can still remember the taste of my first Sonic drink, and the greasy aftertaste that came with it.
- Stop eating cheese. I know this sounds silly that I zeroed in on this, but I can't believe how much cheese I eat. Again, nada mas.
- Get rid of least one piece of clothing that I don't wear once a month. There is someone else out there that needs it more than I.
- Exercise regularly, and lose enough weight to be in the "healthy' range. It's not about a number, it's about being healthy.
- Do the one-picture-a-day challenge for a year. I've never done that so I want to say I did.
- Actually finish a Pinterest project - I have over 400 pins, I should be able to pick and finish something!
- Turn my cell phone off and leave it off for twenty-four hours at least once a month. I know this sounds crazy, but I really want to see how much I can accomplish when I don't have the distraction.
Love,
Kelsea Lauren
